Bio
Vic "delirium" DeLeon is a classically-trained artist and tinkerer living in the Pacific Northwest. His work spans multiple mediums, both physical and digital, and his subject matter frequently highlights the outright absurdities and paradoxes of "nerd culture" in modern life. A familiar name in digital arts and entertainment, he has produced and directed countless beloved video games, TV series, and interactive projects.

At Microsoft he led teams of artists on the multi-billion-dollar Xbox HALO franchise where he modeled, sculpted, and detailed 3D models and environments, cinematic trailers, and promotional materials. He held a creative leadership role at HTC VIVE on the last generation of VR hardware and video games. He led virtual set development on the live-action PERCY JACKSON series for Disney+ at Industrial Light & Magic. Most recently he was Studio Art Director on ARK: SURVIVAL ASCENDED, ARK II, and ARK: THE ANIMATED SERIES on Paramount+.

Statement

My non-commercial work explores the collision between contemporary imagery and the corrosive forces of digital culture. I am driven by the spectacle of our era—how once-potent symbols are rapidly deconstructed, distorted, and reabsorbed into the chaotic stream of social media. In this endless cycle of consumption and fragmentation, once-clear and recognizable symbols lose their true meaning, becoming spectral echoes of their former selves. Through my traditional artwork, I aim to expose the haunting undercurrent of this transformation.

"I like to surreptitiously embed subtle scenarios into each piece; hidden messages and meanings, situations and juxtapositions. Viewers feel rewarded when they find something special or meaningful, and instantly feel like they might be in on something others are not. That's precious to me and I try very hard to accomplish this with each piece."

On the films of Wes Anderson miniature series...

"I love giving viewers a tiny artificial world to explore for themselves very much like a miniature stage play frozen in time. The films of Wes Anderson presented a colorful and fantastical theme that rendered itself well to the typically eccentric nature of my miniature sculptures. The director has used miniatures in several of his films including The Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, and most recently in The Grand Budapest Hotel. He professes to enjoying the "old-fashioned artificiality and charm" of miniatures and I tend to agree with him."
